Description |
Maria Almeida Natividad was born and raised in El Paso, TX. After attending Modesto Junior College and the University of Arizona, she received her BA in Art Education from the University of Texas, El Paso. She has taught art in the public school system for 20 years and is currently the Artist in Residence for the Chicano Studies Department at UTEP. One focus of her work is to celebrate Chicano culture through images representing common bonds: cultural practices, heritage, family values, and religion. |
