The North American armies entered the capital of the Republic and only withdrew when, through the Treaties of Guadalupe, they annexed half of the Mexican territory to their country. Glorious incarnation of the resistance of our people, were the cadets of the Military College who fought recklessly in the Castle of Chapultepec, against an enemy far superior in number and weapons, and fell, on September 13,1847, bequeathing to the new generations an example of virile patriotism. |
